These are the gold level winners.
There on the far left is our grand winner, Sarah from across the road, the Fisherfullas mother. She's far too nice to be his mother but there you have it another mysterious blue splodge moment.
That little lady in the front on the right is Alison who teaches at Leeston Consolidated School and Mags sometimes helps her with the infants reading class. Alison is fun and in to everything, she's a perfect infant teacher.
So what are these awards about?
Well me and Mel are the co-chairs of Leeston Envirotown which is a community group that's about sustainability (totally overused, relatively meaningless word) and self-sufficiency. We have had some big meetings and some tiny meetings, lots of discussions and the awards were an opportunity to pull in to the Leeston Business Association.
30 businesses (basically all but 10 of all the businesses in our area) entered and we had a fun night presenting awards for bronze, silver and gold levels of achievement in how environmentally competent their businesses are. We had the local MP do the hand shaking and handing over of the certificates.
You know it was a good event when people stay afterwards to talk and eat all the supper.
Good job Mags! Good job Leeston Community Committee!
Good job Leeston Envirotown!
P.S. Lincoln Envirotown Trust is the parent of all our local envirotowns, villiages and communities, to read about them go here.
