this time next year THE RUGBY WORLD CUP will almost be over.
We will be up to the quarter finals in Wellington
How do I know this?
Because somehow against all that is good and right, I have been dragged into THE RUGBY WORLD CUP circus in so many ways. I even have a schedule of all games on my 2011 wall calendar, locations and pools.
I love this - we (meaning me and work) have been 'invited' (meaning bid - though we are the only ones so it's not really a competition) to organise a few events that will occur during THE RUGBY WORLD CUP.
So me who knows little about farming but works in hyper farming world, will temporally become me who knows next to nothing about THE RUGBY WORLD CUP in hyper RUGBY WORLD CUP world. It's a topsy turvy life I lead.
The reason being is that rugby and farmers are synonymous - no really they are.
Richie McCaw** (really should be Richie McCor Blimey He's Hot) is off a farm, and Dan Carter is from Southbridge which is in the middle of farmland (and 7kms south of where I live - there were lots of photos of Dan Carter in his undies in shop windows here, not sure why they were removed. Maybe a quiet revolt from the men in my town) and maybe some other current All Blacks who are farmer people - ah let's face it they are in training schools and camps from about 13 so when the heck do they actually farm?
So because farmers and rugby go together like things that go together do, we get to create some crazy "country comes to town" type events during THE RUGBY WORLD CUP.
When our wild and crazy RUGBY WORLD CUP projects get the green light/s I will brief you all and you will be very excited about our wild and crazy RUGBY WORLD CUP projects - yes you will!
Think cows on Lambton Quay, tractors trundling past the Beehive, farmers doing farm things on Oriental Parade - that kind of thing.
P.S. I was going to 'borrow' a RUGBY WORLD CUP logo or such but they've got that sucker sown up and it's harder than just cut and pasting it. Damn it.
*when did capitals get shortened to caps????
** was going to put a photo of Mr McCor Blimey but he don't photo that great, dang it all.
