flying in NZ

have had what seems like epic flights lately.

They really aren't epic cause as every New Zealander knows
epic is to the UK
not Christchurch to Auckland
but when you are tired even before you start your journey
being cramped on a plane is tedious.

By the way loved the quick drive from
Kingsland to the Auckland Airport yesterday.
I might even say I don't mind my tax dollars being used to build Auckland roads.
Viva la Rugby World Cup preparations!

Funny and annoying thing though
While I was waiting for my flight home
there were various announcements over the airport intercom
and one that was regularish
(was only there for 45 minutes, so keep that in perspective)
was the one about turning your phone off
before you get out on the tarmac on your way to the plane.

Both times was as the dulcet tones of the announcer wafted across the airport lounge,
there was a airport worker on the tarmac walking past the window
texting.....

  1. That is how staff are allocated tasks now, not quite text message, but a phone interface system. Maddness I know!
