Envirotown 2011

So it's October so it must be...

Ellesmere Envirotown
Responsible Business Awards!

Monday night it was all go
as 57 businesses based in Leeston, Dolyeston and Southbridge
came to the community room behind the library
to collect their certificates.

There are three categories you can achieve
bronze, silver and gold.
There is platinum but nobody down our way has achieved that.

Basically Mags has gone around and
used her social currency to encourage businesses to enter the awards.
This year, our second she has added in about 15 new businesses.

These are this year's Golds with our guest speaker
the wonderful Heather Roy MP
(that's her on the left without a certificate)

And our silver winners
with Heather on the right...

Look at the all shiny, happy people who are doing well by the environment
and have positive sustainable practices
and are all living and working in our
little district of Ellesmere.

We kind of rock it out here
on the Canty Plains.

Well done Mags for working hard getting
the awards going for this year.
It's been hard work but worth it.
Thanks to Mel for MCing and
Heather for speaking so well at a our little evening.

This stuff is what community is all about.
