burn off season

Harvest is almost over and that means the burn off season begins.

I love it when the farmers burn their fields.

Well I don't love all the smoke
but they are pretty good at choosing their days
when the wind is slight and blowing across the land rather than the road.
Not too many roads around here to worry about.

It does smell good though.

Henery my coordinator is in the local
volunteer fire brigade and
I swear those guys (and girls)
live for burn off season.

Over the weekend there were three
well controlled fires that converged.

But three fires together during the night
light up the sky like nobodies business,
except that obviously someone made it their business
and called the Volunteer Fire Brigade.
They loved it.
