I love our Queen.
Well not really but you know what I mean.
There are some people who have just always been there.
60 years on the throne is a long time,
64 years married,
four kids,
eight grandchildren,
30 godchildren
so it's not always been easy.
Queen Elizabeth II has a regal grace
and sense of purpose
which should be admired whether you are a loyal subject
or a critical Republican.
For those not from a Commonwealth country
(and I'm saying this cause I have had some
interesting conversations in the US)
the Queen does not rule any country.
She can dissolve Parliaments of the countries
she is sovereign of
but in reality this would never happen.
But it's nice to know that if our peaceful officials
suddenly became something like NAZIs
Lillibet could smash 'em
with a decree.
Did you know she owns all the swans in the UK?
She also owns all the guns and ammunition.
She served as an ambulance driver in WW2.
And, I love this,
Prince Charles remembers her putting him to bed
wearing her crown before her coronation.
It's super heavy so she had to practice.
