Last night
with the open ceremony of
THE RUGBY WORLD CUP
with all it's whizz and bang,
tribute to Canterbury with the wee boy wearing his colors
(nice to be remembered,
considering the bulk of the All Blacks play for Canterbury)
brilliant kapa haka,
wonderful singing,
and then after kick off
in the whatever minute of the second half
the Sonny Bill's world stopped for a second.
Then the world stopped for the rest of us
(by us, I mean those who appreciate such fine specimens of manhood)
Sonny Bill in his infinite and silent glory
(has anyone heard him speak??)
had his sleeve ripped by the Tongans
and so had to change his jersey.
and half the crowd went wild.
The other half, the male half went
hmmmmmm and had some quiet reflection on their own physic.
And all the girls went do do do do do take a walk on the Sonny side.
Meanwhile Scotland beat the mostt colourful uniformed team
the Romainians this afternoon.
The French beat Japan.
Japan scored 21 which is fab and full credit to coach JK.
Good effort Japan.
Fiji beat Namibia.
Yeah I know.
And now those sodding Poms are wearing black to play the Pumas.
I love Pumas*.
I remembered wagging school in 1987
to watch Argentina* beat Fiji.
The Pumas are hot but not as hot as Sonny Bill
or cute as Richard Kahui
who scored two tries against Tonga
Ah life is good when
THE RUGBY WORLD CUP
is on.
This post is for Bub, Beautifull and Beautifull's sister,
who by an unfortunate situation of birth
live in Hawaii where
THE RUGBY WORLD CUP
